Educational and Experience Requirement
Bachelor's degree in related field. Two years relevant higher education experience or experience in a related field; four years preferred. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.
Nature & Purpose of Position
Performs professional work in the activities of university program development, curriculum, and academic catalog. Works closely with university administration, faculty, and staff to facilitate efficient, effective, and high-quality project results.
Primary Responsibilities
This position will report to the Director of Academic Planning and Program Development on program development, curriculum, and catalog related projects. Assists and manages in the development of academic programs; edits/reviews program development, curriculum and/or catalog software. Prepares program development, curriculum, and/or catalog submissions and reports. Develops training and communication documents. Leads program development, curriculum, and/or catalog meeting discussions. Trains university personnel on program development, curriculum, and/or catalog processes. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications
Strong oral and written communication skills, to include grammar and mechanics copy editing capabilities, will be necessary for this position, as well as the ability to multi-task, self-initiate, meet deadlines, and work cooperatively with others. This position will need to exercise excellent judgement in working with administrators, faculty, and staff from across SHSU.
Up to 40% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
