Educational And Experience Requirement: Ph.D. or an equivalent doctoral degree in any discipline of Public Health, Neuroscience, Psychology, Public Administration or Health Sciences. Two years of experience in research or teaching or grant writing in public health or health sciences required. Preference will be given to candidates with a combination of education, experience, and training in one or more of the public health administration and/or biomedical science disciplines mentioned above.

Nature & Purpose Of Position

Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), performs specific duties pertaining to research activities, special projects, and/or educational programs. This is advanced professional work which may require the development of new or improved techniques and procedures with latitude for independent action and decision.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Performs research and administrative activities for a National Institute of Health (NIH)-funded study and relevant research projects in the field of environmental and neuro epidemiology under the supervision of the PI.
  • Prepares research results for publication, reports, papers, journals, and books.
  • Performs data entry and statistical analyses.
  • Prepares annual NIH reports, seminar presentations, talks, or lectures for dissemination of knowledge, particularly results of research undertaken.
  • Coordinates field work for research projects and capacity building activities including a 5-6 weeklong summer research program on neuro-epidemiology.
  • Works in collaboration with the PI on grant proposal development in areas relevant to the ongoing NIH-funded study.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications

Should be qualified to perform independent research and grant writing activities and to supervise other research personnel. Duties require advanced knowledge in a field of science or learning, and discretion and judgment. May require contacts with faculty, staff, other university departments, state and federal agencies, other researchers, and outside vendors. Attention and care are required to prevent injury to self or others.

Primary responsibility is to work on an NIH-funded R01 project. This is a position that requires on-campus activities 5 days a week.

This is a part-time temporary, benefits eligible, grant funded position, working 30 hours per week, ending on or before 06/30/2026. Continuation contingent upon continued funding.
