Shift Hours: Monday - Friday (8:00am - 5:00pm)

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements
• High school diploma/GED with 3-5 years of clerical experience
• Excellent interpersonal and staff management skills
• Requires ability to organize and set schedules, meetings and presentations
• General knowledge of office related products such as calculator, copy machine, fax, etc.
• Fluently speak, read and write English. Spanish fluency preferred as well.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications(Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Must be a team player with Risk Management as a small specialized core department within the County and have sense of community within and without County government body
• May be required to work over 40 hours on call as needed
• Must pass criminal background investigation

Primary Job Duties

To provide clerical and administrative support for the department to ensure efficient, effective and productive results. Creates and maintains general files, memos/correspondence, reports and other documents. Processes incoming and outgoing mail. Maintains the office form inventory and processes payment requisitions. Provides standardized information on department programs and procedures to employees. Processes bonds as required. Maintains privacy as required under federal HIPAA regulations and department regulations.
• Customer Service with Departments and Employees with questions regarding benefits administration and with citizens on issues related to insurance claims involving Montgomery County
• Receptionist for Risk Management with contact with employees, dependents, public officials and citizens. Answers incoming calls, takes messages and distributes messages.
• Administer surety bond processes for County officials. Demonstrate general understanding of bond policy and maintain appropriate records to include issuance and schedule of County surety bonds.
• Provides assistance in Risk Management Department Meetings
• Requires the ability to function and multi-task under timelines and the ability to adapt to program changes
• Maintains privacy as required under federal HIPAA and department regulations and deals with highly confidential, sensitive, and/or controversial situations
• Receive, sort and distribute mail, assist in mass mailings and input data for preparation of statistical reports.
• Additional duties as assigned.

After receiving a conditional offer of employment, applicant must pass a drug screen (1/2 cost = $20.00, responsibility of applicant) and may need a physical agility test (1/2 cost = $22.50, responsibility of applicant) before becoming an employee of Montgomery County.
