Operates vehicles for patient transport within a correctional healthcare setting in a safe manner. Provides routine inspection and maintenance of vehicles. Provides diversified administrative, clerical, and technical assistance/service within the correctional healthcare setting. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assists with safe, prompt transfers of patients between correctional facilities, Hospital Galveston and other free world destinations throughout a large geographical area. Maintains daily log of mileage, number of trips, passengers, destination and fuel/oil consumption. Inspects condition of all assigned vehicles on a regular basis with regard to oil, fuel, tires and water. Reports any needed adjustments or repairs to supervisor. Provides a clean, safe environment; performs or assists others to perform proper aseptic techniques, isolation procedures, and infection control measures.
