Educational and Experience Requirement

Bachelor's degree in related field. One year of experience in a related field. Two or more years of experience preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position

Plans and executes complex events for the Graduate and Professional School. Collaborates with key university partners, including students, faculty, staff, and external constituents.

Primary Responsibilities

Manages, arranges, and implements events and support services for the Graduate and Professional School. Processes all paperwork in relation to campus events. Staffs events to ensure that all logistics and event details are implemented as planned. Ensures logistics for invited guests are clear and complete. Maintains event budgets and financial record for accounts used in relation to events. Complies with budgetary guidelines and restrictions related to events. Plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, supports, promotes, and evaluates community partnerships. Plans, implements, and evaluates campus-wide initiatives to inform and educate the campus community regarding the Graduate and Professional School and the services that are provided. Provides assistance in coordinating virtual and in-person support services. Coordinates with campus partners regarding events via phone, email, video call, online chats, and/or in-person. Selects and orders promotional items with approval from the Dean. Coordinates the marketing and promotion of events to increase participation. May serve as the department representative for internal or external meetings, committees, and presentations. Requires regular contact with students, faculty, and staff. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requires take-charge professionalism, excellent interpersonal skills with careful focus and attention dedicated to managing relationships with key university partners. Must be able to anticipate project needs, demonstrate organization ability, and a focus on details and quality control. Ability to organize work effectively and prioritize objectives with a high level of independent judgement and initiative. Skilled in directing multiple tasks, setting priorities, and organizing operation. Should be a self-starter and be able to function independently. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administration, faculty, staff, students, and the public. Maintains confidentiality of all information and communications within the university. Strong written and oral communication skills.
