JOB SUMMARY
This position ensures compliance with applicable City Ordinances and State Health and Safety Codes and other Federal and State regulations for the City of Conroe. Under limited supervision, the position responds and investigates complaints and identifies alleged violations of Codes in the City of Conroe. This position must have an enhanced knowledge of City Codes and must possess the ability for independent thinking regarding each incident. This position will write citations and will be the catalyst for resolving or convicting offenders. Ability to speak Spanish strongly preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or G.E.D. with two years of Code Enforcement experience or other related experience. Some college level courses in Natural Science and two years of experience in environmental health or a qualified field preferred. Alternatively, an associate's degree in Environment Science, Environmental Health or related field is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires the ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Work involves a lot of walking. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, grasping, hearing, lifting, mental acuity, reaching, speaking, talking, visual acuity and walking.
