JOB DESCRIPTION:
To assist in carrying out the Special Education Program in the school district by supporting the Director of Special Education and the Lead Deaf Education Teacher and all deaf education staff in their daily clerical and fiscal responsibilities.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Office operations as assigned by the Lead Deaf Education Teacher.
  2. Assist in maintaining organization and structure in the district deaf education office.
  3. Management and organization of special education audit files
  4. Provide feedback to Director and Lead Deaf Education Teacher on office organization and structure.
  5. Work cooperative with all staff members.
  6. Participate in staff development opportunities, both within and outside the school district that result in professional growth and development.
  7. Maintain confidentiality.
  8. Maintain a positive relationship with students, parents, and school staff.
  9. Regular attendance.
  10. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Five years of clerical/accounting experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
  • High School Diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Proficient skills in keyboarding, data entry, word processing, and file maintenance
  • Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, databases and word processing documents
  • Ability to prioritize workflow to address the multiple needs of the supervisor or the department
  • Ability to multi-task numerous complex administrative activities
  • Basic math skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
