Temporary Worker - Textbook WarehouseJOB STATUS: OPEN POSTING DATE: 04/08/2026 CLOSING DATE: 04/21/2026 04:00 PM POSTING NUMBER: 052729 LOCATION: Admin Teaching & Learning - 874 POSITION TITLE: Temporary Worker - Textbook WarehouseJOB DESCRIPTION:This is a temporary position to assist the Textbook Warehouse and support the efficient operation of the textbook warehousing functions.DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:* Load and unload delivery trucks by hand or by use of a hand truck.* Assist the Textbook Warehouse Person to maintain the Textbook Warehouse.* Assist in the verification of the accuracy of shipments by counting, weighing, or measuring items and comparing size, weight, description, and code numbers with information on invoice or packing slip and purchase orders.* Open crates and other containers using hand tools to unpack items received. Inspect shipments for damage and defects.* Move inventory to various locations manually and by operating mechanical equipment, including forklift, pallet jack, and handcart.* Sort and store items according to established procedures.* Report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.* Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.* Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.* Maintain confidentiality.* Regular attendance.* Other duties assigned.EXPERIENCE:* NoneQUALIFICATIONS:Education/Certification:* High school diploma or GED* Ability to read and understand verbal and written instructions in EnglishSpecial Knowledge/Skills:* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals* Ability to use word processing and textbook inventory software* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure* Ability to obtain expertise in operating a pallet jackCONTACT INFORMATION:Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Continual walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting up to 75 pounds, and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
