Job Description Job Description About the jobCompany OverviewAmeritex Machine and Fabrication is a high mix low volume sheet metal and structural fabrication facility that uses a variety of equipment such as CNC Fiber Lasers, CNC punch presses, CNC press brakes, and tube lasers to support over 19 production and assembly lines. The company serves customers in energy, oil and gas, automotive, electric vehicle, and aerospace. We operate out of a state of the art 100,000 sqft facility in Conroe, Texas.Position SummaryAmeritex Machine & Fab, LLC is seeking a results-driven Machine Shop Supervisor to lead daily operations within our machining and fabrication environment. This role is responsible for overseeing production, managing personnel, ensuring quality standards, and driving efficiency across CNC and fabrication processes.The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge of machining operations with proven leadership ability to manage teams, meet production goals, and support continuous improvement initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesMachine Operation & ProductionOversee daily machining and fabrication operations to meet production schedules and deadlinesAssign work, prioritize jobs, and monitor workflow across CNC machines and related equipmentEnsure efficient utilization of labor, equipment, and materialsResponsible for meeting daily production targets and ensuring on-time completion of work ordersResponsible for driving production performance, team accountability, and overall department efficiency.Monitor key production metrics (efficiency, scrap, rework, on-time delivery) and take corrective action as neededCoordinate with engineering, scheduling, and other departments to align production needsMonitor workflow across CNC equipment including lasers, press brakes, tube lasers, and machining centers to ensure efficiency and throughputLeadership & Team ManagementSupervise, coach, and develop machine operators and leadsSet clear expectations and hold team members accountable for performance, attendance, and qualityConduct performance feedback, address disciplinary issues, and support employee developmentAssist in hiring and training new employeesQuality AssuranceEnsure all parts meet blueprint specifications and quality standardsIdentify process inefficiencies and implement improvements to increase productivity and reduce wasteSupport continuous improvement initiatives and standardization of processesMonitor production metrics and take corrective action when neededSafety & ComplianceEnforce all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirementsMaintain a safe, clean, and organized work environmentEnsure compliance with OSHA, company policies, and operational standardsLead by example in promoting a strong safety culture across the shop floorEquipment & Technical OversightTroubleshoot production issues and escalate maintenance needs as necessarySupport setup, programming, or adjustments as needed (depending on experience level)Oversee proper operation and maintenance of CNC equipment including CNC LVDfiber lasers, LVDpress brakes (auto tool changer), tube lasers (auto feed), automatic Marvel saws, and DavirollersEnsure operators are properly trained and equipment is utilized efficiently to meet production and quality standardsTeamwork & CommunicationCollaborate with engineering, scheduling, and other departments to ensure alignment on production priorities and timelinesCommunicate effectively with leadership regarding production challenges, staffing needs, and operational risksProvide clear direction and expectations to team members to ensure consistent performance and accountabilityDrive communication across shifts to ensure continuity of operations and minimize disruptionsQualifications3–5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or machining environmentPrior leadership or supervisory experience required (Lead or Supervisor level)Strong knowledge of CNC machining, fabrication processes, and blueprint readingHands-on experience with CNC equipment such as fiber lasers, press brakes, tube lasers, saws, or rollers preferredAbility to manage production schedules and prioritize effectivelyExperience with continuous improvement or process optimization preferredForklift and/or overhead crane experience preferredPhysical Requirements & Work EnvironmentManufacturing shop environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and physical activityCombination of hands-on floor presence and administrative responsibilitiesAbility to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods during the shift.Must be able to safely lift 50 pounds regularly.Must pass all pre-employment drug and background screening
