Senior Accountant (Contract 6 Months)

We are seeking a Senior Accountant for a 6-month contract opportunity with a growing organization in North Houston, TX. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional with strong reconciliation expertise, experience in multi-entity environments, and a background in cost accounting within manufacturing. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in financial reporting, analysis, and supporting process improvements across the accounting function.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complex account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Support month-end and year-end close processes across multiple entities (7 total)
• Manage and analyze inventory and cost accounting (standard costing environment)
• Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and variance analyses
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, supply chain, FP&A) to ensure accurate financial data
• Assist with system enhancements, automation initiatives, and process improvements
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
• Utilize NetSuite for daily accounting operations and reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including senior-level responsibilities
• Strong experience with account reconciliations (highly preferred)
• Experience working in a multi-entity environment
• Background in manufacturing and cost accounting, including inventory and standard costing
• Proficiency in NetSuite required
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
