Position Title: Homeless Student Parent LiaisonJob DescriptionAssist with parent conferences, parent communications and assist in the tracking of homeless students throughout the school district.Duties and ResponsibilitiesRespond to routine inquiries from staff and public.Exercise good telephone etiquette, receive incoming calls, answer routing questions, take reliable messages, route to appropriate staff in English and Spanish.Maintain, organize, and update/order supplies as needed.Perform clerical duties.Sort and distribute mail.Assist with parent conferences and parent communications in English and Spanish.Support and carry out activities related to the Homeless and Dropout Prevention Programs.Communicate with students, teachers, staff, and parents.Compile, maintain records, and other required documents.Monitor student grades and completion rates.Perform other duties as assigned.Maintain confidentiality.ExperienceOne to three years secretarial experienceQualificationsEducation/Certification:High School Diploma or GEDSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Proficient skills in typing, word processing and file maintenanceEffective interpersonal skillsGeneral computer knowledgeGeneral knowledge of responsibilities of each campus departmentGeneral knowledge of school programsAbility to work with students and teachers effectivelyAwareness and ability to access community resourcesContact InformationMental Demands/ Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures, and data; maintain emotional control under stress.
